Every Therapy has its Pros and Cons
Counselling involves sharing sensitive, personal and private information that may be at times uncomfortable and painful. During the course of counselling, there may be periods when you will experience degrees of negative feelings (such as increased uneasiness as you work through and face issues, confusion, frustration, sadness, anger, and other emotions as part of the overall healing process) and some days will be hard as well as uplifting and hopeful.
The positives include relief, joy, hope, strength, comfort, direction, improved relationships, stronger coping skills, greater awareness to face life’s challenges, problem solving, and a deeper spirituality. Results will vary by case and individuals and results are not always predictable.
If you or someone you know is having thoughts of suicide and in need of immediate and urgent help, please call 911, or 1-800-784-2433 (1-800-SUICIDE), or your local crisis centre, 988, or go to your nearest hospital.
Both of the 310-6789 and 1-800-SUICIDE phone lines are available in over 140 languages using a language service. Let them know which language you require.
